Webinar with Christoph Then

Our the next guest in the NRP 84 webinar series is Christoph Then, Executive Director and Scientific Director of Testbiotech.org.

Christoph Then is a veterinarian and an expert in biotechnology, genetic engineering and the assessment of their potential risks to human health and the environment. As Executive Director and Scientific Director of Testbiotech.org, an independent institute based in Munich, he focuses on the environmental and societal implications of genetically modified organisms. He will share his insights on the risk assesment of genetically engineered organisms, including those developed using new genomic techniques, and the challenges they pose for biodiversity, agriculture and regulatory frameworks.

Throughout his career, Christoph Then has worked with organisations such as Greenpeace and has been actively involved in debates on biotechnology, biosafety and patents on living organisms. He is also a spokesperson for the international coalition “No Patents on Seeds”.
